19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is his initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
Moutet defended four early-game chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner earned the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
